I could have bought a Tremec transmission at any number of places, but I wanted to buy from a person. A knowledgeable person! That way if I ever had a problem, I could go back to that "person" and get some help. This was especially important to me because I wanted to buy a complete transmission system to convert my old muscle car to a modern day cruiser.
Well there was an issue, a small issue, but nonetheless, my TKO 600
wasn't perfect.

I went on the HR Power Tour this year, and so did American Powertrain. So I asked them for some advice on a noisy transmission. Gray from AP rode with me on a shakedown run and made some suggestions. Several days later a decision was made to pull the transmission and although Gray was working the Tremec booth, he still helped pull the trans, took apart a simple bearing retainer, and re-shimmed the bearing with shims borrowed from a display trans. The noise was due to shims seating in, and several thousandths worth of them was the cure. |

Throughout the Tour AP checked in with me, and afterward followed up with me either by phone or email, and addressed any and all questions or concerns. Best of all when I called the shop, I talked to a person, not an unknowledgeable phone tech from India. Speaking of Techs, AP’s Tech, Josh, even mailed me one of my small sockets they picked up by mistake during our R&R of the trans. So, it didn't matter if it was a small issue or a big one, American Powertrain followed up with me to make sure I was a satisfied customer.
