Sales Position
Company overview:
• American Powertrain and its parent
company, The Driven Man, provide modern transmission systems
for classic muscle cars and street rods as well as for
modern performance vehicles. We are one of the top 10 Tremec
Transmissions Elite Dealers in the world. We also sell a
complete line of clutches, flywheels and hydraulic actuation
systems.
• We currently have 7 fulltime employees and a few
contractors.
• We have been in business since 2005.
• One of our transmissions was recently featured on Hot Rod
TV. We have other TV and print features in process.
• We have had over 1.5 million visitors to our websites.
• We have a 16,000 square foot facility.
The position:
• Sales – predominantly phone based sales to individuals,
shops and re-sellers. There may be some in person sales at
automotive events or commercial customers.
• Market: The entire world. Literally. We have customers all
around the world. ( You gotta love the internet)
• Hours: Generally 8:00 – 5:00 M-F hours. Some flexibility.
A good candidate could earn a $20,000 base with additional
commission. A competent salesperson can earn $35,000 per
year after just a few weeks of work. A good salesperson
could make $50,000 plus after building up a customer base.
• PDO’s
• Insurance – not at this time
• 401k – not at this time
Requirements:
• Must have successful sales experience, but it does not have
to be in the automotive field. This is a very technical
sales position and an understanding of automobiles is a
definite plus.
• A good general understanding of automotive transmissions,
engines etc... is very important, but if you are a quicker
learner and an excellent sales person you may still be a
good fit for the job.
• We only hire non-smokers.
• No profanity or vulgarity
• A good working knowledge of e-mail and internet navigation
is essential as are excellent people skills and the ability
to communicate technical information in a clear and
intelligent manner. We want our customers to know we provide
excellent service, sell good products and have a
knowledgeable staff.
